Stones Used in the Garden and Buildings
The Huntington Botanical Garden is located in San Marino near Pasadena,
California. The photographs below were taken in late September 2010.
While you will find many photographs of the plants in the gardens,
my focus was on the stones used in the gardens and structures. The
docent stated that the stones in the gardens came mainly from the
Inyo Mountains in Inyo County, California, and Arizona. The order
of this photo tour is according to the docent-led tour that we joined.
It only covers portions of the gardens. In the Huntington
Botanical Library, Art Collections, and Botanica Gardens – Themed
Gardens section of the web site, you will find information and
more photographs. Photographs by Peggy
B. Perazzo and Pat Perazzo.
